 Trade businesses are often considered some of the best small businesses to buy due to their stability and the fact that they will always be needed. While technological advances have automated many jobs, trades such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC require a physical presence that cannot be replaced by technology. These businesses provide essential services to both residential and commercial customers, ensuring that there is always a demand for their expertise. In addition, trade businesses typically have a loyal customer base and a strong reputation within their communities, making them a sound investment.

• Boomers own 2.34 million small businesses in the U.S., employing more than 25 million people.

• But a recent survey by Wilmington Trust shows that more than 58% of small business owners have no transition or succession plan.
• By some accounts, there are almost 28 million small business owners in the U.S., and many are owned by Baby Boomers who will soon be retiring. The challenge for these owners is what to do with their businesses.
